Ventilatorremmen består af et fleksibelt materiale, der bruges til at forbinde to eller flere roterende aksler mekanisk, normalt parallelt. "Bæltet" kan bruges som en kilde til bevægelse, til at overføre strøm effektivt eller til at spore relativ bevægelse. Remme er løkket over remskiver og kan have en snoning mellem remskiverne. Akslerne behøver ikke at være parallelle. Hvis du hører en hvinende lyd fra en rem, når du starter motoren, skyldes det højst sandsynligt et problem med ventilatorremmen, og så skal den udskiftes.
